I have recently upgraded to Digital voice and although its claimed it live the phone light is not illuminated at all!
Support are telling ,me I need to buy a digital phone with 2 RJ11 ports as mine only has 1 port. I was not provided with a suitable phone spec to buy. Can someone advise if this is true as I have never seen a typical phone. Surely at the least the phone light on the router at least be illuminated red.
Any advice would be gratefully received.

Whatever they are telling you is complete garbage,
If the PHONE led on the router is not lit, they haven't configured the service correctly. (I'm assuming you have the THG3000 router, I don't know about the Ultra router.)
Edit: on theTHG3000 router the led will be white.
