Since full fibre was installed my landline phone is not working properly. The sound is very poor and calls often drop out or cut out after a horrible screeching sound. I have been in touch with Vodafone who have offered a couple of solutions which have not worked. The phone is a BT 8610 cordless which worked absolutely fine before fibre was installed. Vodafone tech support suggested trying another phone, which made no difference, and adding a RJ11 to BT adapter, also to no effect. Is there a compatibility problem between older phones and the new router or the fibre technology. Vodafone claim there should not be a problem using older phones, but I am not so sure. Can anyone clarify as I’m frustrated and don’t seem to be getting any answers after a month.

Just to add that the spare phone tried was a wired one. I have just seen a post further down with almost exactly the same issue, which does not appear to be a handset issue. That problem has not been resolved yet as far as I can see and the replies he has received from Vodafone frankly just seem to be stalling. I have already raised complaints over our treatment and so far have got nowhere as well.
