Just got FTTP and everything is working fine off the VF router. Phone lines are plugged into the VF router, VF router's WiFi is switched off. 3rd party Mesh has been switched to Bridge mode and plugged into the VF's ethernet port.
However I am shocked at how feature poor the VF router is. e.g. There are no Parental controls at all. I know I can get rid of the VF router and plug my own Mesh router into the Openreach ONT, but what about the Landline.
Are there any 3rd party routers in the market that have a telephone socket at the back to allow the home phone to be plugged in?

Hi,
Now i have another strange issue, only with three network again. Although phone is ringing but it is full of cracking noise where you can even hear the far end. Tried with 4 different 3 mobile phones and same issue.
Anyone in position to test this? I am away so cant connect this to the vodafone router for few weeks until i am back home.
Just wanting to understand where the issue is... three, vodafone or the device settings.

Sounds like the phone being used is too close to the router, or is picking up interference from something else local to it in the home.

Only for people calling from Three mobile? Few days ago it said unrecognised number again only from three network.

If the interference is from only one Three phone then it's that particular handset or the area that it's in. If it's several Three handsets in different areas then it's either a widespread problem with the Three network that no-one else has noticed, or more likely the way the connection is/has been piped to Vodafone. In any of these cases vodafone can claim "no fault in our control" and just ignore it.

Deleted post, hadn't noticed the thread had moved over a page.

Has anyone had any success using an asterisk server to connect to the Vodafone VoIP server? They've given me the login details and I've followed the config templates at the beginning of the thread.
It sends the initial register and the Vodafone server responds with a 407 proxy authentication required. Asterisk then sends the auth digest but the reply is another 407 response.
Will double check the supplied username and password with support but if anyone has asterisk working can they reply so at least I know it is possible!! Thanks.

Been using Asterisk setups on two accounts since last May. Same setup used on both and no issues with either.

I'd like to think it is, but not confident to go alone just yet!
