Landline

My mobile phone makes and receives calls no problem. However, if I ring my mobile from my own landline, I always get the engaged tone even though I'm clearly not on my mobile? The landline rings anyone else no problem. I need it to ring my mobile as part of an alarm system. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks

Who are you on for mobile, and have you been able to check if you can ring other mobiles on the same network?

Same problem except my mobile registers a missed call but does not ring. My mobile is EE but I can call other EE mobiles succesfully from the landline.

My mobile number is my contact for Vodafone I'm wondering if thats part of the problem.

Not a big issue but puzzling.

My mobile is actually with 1p. I can use the landline to ring any other mobile and my brothers are also on 1p and no problem getting through. It is just my own number on the landline. I needed it to ring as part of my alarm system, but have now changed to a wifi/Alexa system so no longer a problem. As you say though, it's just puzzling.
