Hello,
I have theVodafone broadband package which includes the VIOP telephone line. I am disabled and struggle to use a regular phone, prefering to use a headset on my PC.
I can't for the life of me find an app or way to make this work, although I know the technology has been available for many years.
I may be missing something quite simple (happens with old age), could someone please point me in the right direction?
Many thanks,
Neal.

I can't think of any way of making and receiving landline calls on your PC.
You could do it by getting a new VoIP number and service from someone else, but Vodafone won't release the details to use their VoIP service with a softphone.
And you can't really migrate your Vodafone number to another VoIP provider as that will almost certainly cancel your broadband.

The problem with PC VOIP is there's no software available with the settings to match vodafone's digital voice service. Even a lot of voip hardware is incompatible.

Give a https://www.microsip.org/ try
Its got all that is needed ....for SIP and TLS/SRTP .....
Maybe get an account with A&A or NumberPeople and if VF fails, at least you already have an alternative
