Our landline has suddenly stopped working properly, the dial tone is very rapid with a split second between each pulse
As it is voip and the phone is plugged directly in the modem it's unlikely to be an error on my property. With virgin you could simply select a line test online but don't know how to do this with Vodaphone ?

I suspect it's trying to tell you something, such a a voice mail waiting,
I know calling features aren't supposed to be available with Vodafone, but some people have found they do work.
Try dialling *98 and see if it does anything.

Hello Jayach,
*98 didn't do anything unfortunately, I found an option to test the line but it only for test b/band connectivity which it says is working properly, the problem could be a faulty modem I suppose

@capnbirdseye Can you remember who you last spoke to on that line? It reminds me of the tone you used to get when the other party failed to properly hang-up. You could then try that persons number using another phone.

I've fixed it now by rebooting the modem, I should have thought of that earlier but being used to a normal phone wire connection for Donkeys years I hadn't got used to our very recent voip phoneline. The normal dialing tone with voip is a continuous noise compared to the older type
