Suggestions for home phone handset

Hi,

I have FTTP and a new router with VOIP turned on.

I have tried to connect my existing DECT phones to the router via a rj45 cable into the telephone ports but I get no dial tone.

Am I missing something or do I need newer handsets?

Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks

I need an home Desk-top phone which receives the phone signal BY WIFI

No, I do not want a DECT phone or so-called cordless phone where there is a central or main box connected to the router and a cordless handset.

I need a desk-top telephone which connects via the WIFI to the router. There can be a small wifi 'gismo' which goes into the socket on the router but NOT a receiver box sending out a wireless signal.  I already have that plugged into in the first socket of the route with 4 wireless handsets situated in various parts of the house. Those small handsets are not suitable for my purpose. I need a proper solid desk-top wifi telephone/speaker phone which connects to the router presumably via wifi.

From what you say, you already have a DECT system, but don't like the handsets. There are probably many VoIP handsets that will do what you want, but they will not work with Vodafone's VoIP, you will need a separate VoIP service.
