Dire Broadband Speeds and Dire 4G signal double whammy

Hi, Wondering if anyone has any advice about the above problems. I have tried 3-4 ISP`s over the years and the best I got was 7MBPS but even that fluctuated and went down to 4MBPS at times. The Upload speed is universally low at well below 1MBPS. Same problem with mob signal + data. Every mobile coverage checker tells us that we have a good 4G signal but we dont. That flickers on and off every other minute. This is the same for all my neighbours in our area. This is also the case with home broadband.

I was joyful when truepeed laid fibre to all properties in our street with scorching speeds but the company who manages our property refuse to link us up. They "reason" that they want everyone in our block of 9 flats to have a choice of which fibre provider to use. I explained a million times that there is only ONE ISP who deliver fibre in our street but they still deny it being fitted. Its very annoying because our property was built to house fibre with our dedicated hub 1ft away from our flats.

I got the local MP involved but she also could not make them budge.

My question is, If I installed a booster for my mob signal and signed up to Vodafone mobile broadband, could this work? If so what would be the best setup? I live in a flat with a juliiet balcony kind of facing in the masts direction. Vodafone will not entertain boosters and said today when I contacted them they do not provide broadband in our area. 

Apologies for the length of this but I really am stuck. I am at a wits end. I cannot work properly from home because of the speeds, lagging, timeouts uploading work, zoom interruptions etc etc etc...

In my experience, Vodafone have decimated the connectivity to 4G for data! Originally, I could easily download at 80mbs (when 4G was introduced), now I'm lucky if I can download at all, especially during peak hours! Customer services deem this as an acceptable level of service! Furthermore, after addressing this issue almost monthly for the past two years, I've given up! It's obvious to anyone it's the 'contention' on the line! However, Vodafone do not seem to have increased the network capacity to compensate for this issue, especially eversince the cessation of their 3G service, which undoubtedly increased data traffic on the 4G service, hence compounding the issue. Hope this helps to explain somewhat.

It's not necessarily VF's fault. The national infrastructure capacity may be struggling at times and/or regionally with the huge roll-out of digital.

What technology are you referring to as "digital" in this context?

@japitts The end of FTTC and introduction of VOIP in 2025.

Cheers for that. It does sound somewhat dire. The mast we use does not transmit 5G either. There is a strong afluent and persuasive lobby against new mobile phone masts in our area too so thats not good either. Maybe I shall go skyward and see what the prices are like.
