Can you use a normal pay as you go phone sim

card in mobile WiFi dongle?

Yes @klj200781. This will work. Just top up as normal and purchase a BVB to use the data allowance.

Will this work on one of the mobile WiFi hotspot devices? I want use my pay as you go SIM card and use it in there rather than purchasing a data only sim?

As @AnnS said, you'll be able to use your Pay as you go SIM and Big Value Bundle in a mobile WiFi device. The SIM is the same as data only SIM. Hope that helps, let us know if you've got any further questions.

You may need to change the APN.  Follow this link https://deviceguides.vodafone.co.uk/vodafone/mobile-wi-fi-r218-windows-10/ set up your router for internet, the APN will be the same for all data devices.
