Hi Tech Team,
What version is the latest firmware since I'm still having issues. There seem to be a 4.2 version avalible that Vodacom SA is upgrading routers to that fixes the "Limited Service" problem on the R212-Z.
Regards Fred
Hi Fred,
You can get approved software updates here. Just click on the grey 'Download software' button over to the right.
10.3.405 is the latest version we offer.
Cheers, Ben
Hi Tech Team,
Regarding my message, I'm not referring to the Vodafone Connectivity software. I'm referring to the Firmware of the R212-Z Router.
The firmware that was send to me by Voadfone is Firmware Version 3.5 but I'm still experiencing problems with "Limited Service". In the Vodacom South Africa Forum they seem to be distributing Firmware Version 4.2 that has this issue fixed.
The only issue is that they do not allow clients to do an upgrade themselves.
Regards
Fred
Hi MennoChristiaanMulder,
We can certainly help you, so will need a valid email address.
Update your forum profile with the right details and let us know when it’s done.
We’ll then send the firmware to you.
Hi Fred,
I've had it confirmed that the firmware I sent to you is the latest available.
Thanks,
Andy
Hi Techteam,
Thanks for sending the beta 3.5 firmware.
I install it, I got the feeling that the 4g connection was smoothter. at least an improvement.
But my original problem wasnot solved:
- When the device get into sleep mode, it will not build-up the connection again.
Because it lost the settings. You need to log into the device and change the connection settings every time.
In more detail you have to complete the number string, because it will lost the last 3 digits.
I use the device with a local sim (not vodafone) when I'm abroad.
I found the solution for it in the following link:
I installed the firmware version 4.3 (google on R212 firmware 4.3).
Fill in at the tab: Connections
the number setting: *99#.
your local APN:
and change the how to connect type from "automatic" to "ondemand"
The device is now working fine and I'm happy with it.
Regards,
Joelle
Hi Tech Team,
I am having the same issues with the device, please could you mail me the link to the R212 4.2 version or higher beta firmware.
Thanks
Claudio
Hi Andy,
I too have received the version 3.5 of the firmware and as other members of this forum, I'm still experiencing connection issues with the R212.
I would really like to have version 4.2 or 4.3 (see here: http://www.oriunde.net/fwup.html - note that the 4.3 is broken) of the firmware.
Thanks a lot for your help.
Andrei.
Hi DaveCD,
Thank you for your the e-mail you sent me.
Unfortunately it contains the firmware version 3.5 not 4.2 or 4.3
Is there any way to get the 4.3 version of the Firmware for the R212 ?
Thanks,
Andrei
Hi Matt,
The issue is not with the downloading of the file. It is with the version of the firware you provided.
I asked for 4.3 or 4.2 and you guys sent me, once again, 3.5 !!!!
Thanks.
@pbnet
Sorry the official firmware Vodafone UK can give you is the 3.5.
On the internet version 4.3 could be found.
This is not an official one and the source is not traceable.
You do it on your owne risk.
The file I found was also not direct working, but if you rename the file, exact the same as the Vodafone UK 3.5. it works. so skip the 4.3 at the end.
Joelle
