Using phone as mobile hotspot with PS4

Hi guys,

I recently joined vodafone as I have moved house, and can't have a fixed land line installed where I am, so I use my mobile phone as a wifi hotspot.  I works really well with my laptop / now tv etc.  But I want to use it with my ps4 to play online, my ps4 will connect, and will go online via the hotspot, but it gives me a type 3 / strict NAT.  Is there anyway to get around this, as it stops me from joining friends online.

If it makes any difference, i am using a samsung galaxy s8 as the mobile hotspot...

What size of Gb is your Data Allowance @mrmcox ?

I ask as the activities you mention are going to use it quite quickly so watch out for any out of Bundle Data charges as they can mount very quickly

I followed the instructions in the link that was posted...unfortunately it made no difference😕

It must be possible to get bar type 2 with 4g device as I borrowed an o2 phone and it worked perfectly.

@mrmcox It seems this restriction was put in place by Playstation, so there's nothing else we'd be able to advise on our end.

The Google DNS settings which are found on the post suggested by @Annie_N are correct.
