vodafone 3G mobile hotspot internet stops working

i have a vodafone mobile wifi hotspot, sometimes the data stops working and the only way to get it to work again is to restart it

I suspect your problem here is the device is going into sleep mode @lukefowler20233 

After 10 minutes of inactivity, to conserve the battery the device will go into sleep mode and will need to be woken up by pressing the power button, the display will then briefly illuminate and you will have WiFi access.

To prevent this happening connect with a mains or USB charger, and the device will wake up as soon as a request is made to access the internet.

it is always plugged in, it still broadcasts wifi, it is the 3g that stops working

In that case @lukefowler20233 , you have a network issue.  Vodafone will also be shutting down 3G during this year.

thats not good, that means my wifi hotspot which is only 6 years old will be useless soon
