In our area (Christchurch) 3G appears to have been switched off. Although I have 4G enabled on my phone, the 2G network seems to be stronger & my phone swiches to 2G. I now can't use the parking app to park my car & have to resort to cash. I had no problem before. Is there any way round this?

Hi @hudl13 A 2G data connection is likely to be too slow for your parking app to work effectively. It might help to adjust your preferred network type (2G/3G/4G/5G) within your phone's network settings. Choose your phone from our device guide for more accurate steps on this or just let us know the make and model here.

Thank you. I have the phone on "Preferred Network Type" 4G & 3G &2G. I have enabled 4G calling but it still doesn't connect to 4G in this area. The phone is a Motorola Mote E40. It is just over a year old.

Thank you for getting back to us. You can try manually selecting the 4G option via your devices Mobile Data settings. You can also check the status and coverage of the network in your area via our Network Status Checker. If you require any further assistance, please pop us over a message with the full affected postcode via the contact information found here.

Thanks for your message. The affected postcode where I tried to use the Parking App was BH23 1QD. The network checker says a good 4G signal. The phone is all set up for 4G. I have now tried a SIM card from a different network in my phone & 4G works fine with that SIM Card. Could it be the Vodafone SIM Card or something wrong with my PAYG account?
