If you paid the debt unless the default was placed in error it won't be removed, the default notice will remain in place on your file as a forewarning towards your other creditors as to how you manage your affairs for a 6 year period. However, your file should show be updated to show the debt as settled.

Your best bet will be to talk initially to the Social Media team on Facebook or Twitter. Ask them to refer the mattter to Credit File Support, who have access to the full history. If there are any grounds for amending the file, they're the people who can do it - I can't say they will, but they do have that capability. At this stage, frontline customer services won't have any access, so don't bother with 191 or Live Chat.
