In a post on the Official Android Blog this morning they have announced the launch of Android Pay in the UK
Android users in the UK are already enjoying many great features of Android from Google Photos to Google Play, and in the next few months Android smartphones will become even more useful with the launch of Android Pay. We’re bringing together payment networks, banks and retailers to help you pay simply and securely.
In the US Android Pay requires a device running 4.4 or newer and a compatible debit or credit card. Much like Apple Pay it will initially launch with a few major banks with more to join later.

They're saying they want to use mobile payment within their own app. The BBC piece suggests they're only onboard with ApplePay because Apple won't let 3rd parties use the NFC function.
Nat West isn't on yet either. :smileysad:

My bank is supported and so is my phone, i thought my bank would have sent an email out by now telling us how wnderful it is or I would have had a email from Google telling us how great it is, been very quiet apart from the news and tech sites.
No, i will not be using it.

I don't use costa, Coffee is almost as bad as Starbucks, so I will not get a email from them. Saying thaty I reallt do not use any large coffee shops, i use a local one and they do not take contactless.
I have been in Cooffee#1 that have opened here a few weeks back, it was ok, but prefer to support local,.
