Lumia 950 Lost Photos

I got an Lumia 950 about two weeks ago, and tried to send a photo this morning, only to find that all my photos (over 200) have gone. The files still seem to be there, but the gallery just shows black squares instead of thumbnails.

Does anyone know how to recover them? I'd really appreciate any help!

Have you tried connecting your phone to your PC and copying them off?  If so do the files work on the PC or are they corrupt?
