As part of our BB contract renewal vodafone have sent us a "new" modem.
We are now going to be getting Fibre 2, we were on Superfast 2.
We already have the THG300g which we have been using for a long time and seems to work OK.
They have now sent us a THG3000 modem.
Is there any difference? Should we bother changing?
Thanks for any help

A little strong lol
I'd say one of them is bad. The other is slightly worse.
No, really, the only noticeable difference is the 'g' version has G.fast - totally irrelevant for Vodafone services (I don't recall them ever offering >85Mbps on fttc). It's not an upgrade, it's a side-grade.

Do we know if one version has a more "modified" firmware than the other?

Wow, this thread has definitely given me that Déjà vu feeling.
No, there is apparently no difference between the routers except for the modem, which is meaningless in a Full Fibre world.
@WelshPaul I definitely wouldn't call them "crap", I think they are not bad, for an ISP supplied router. The fact they are about 5 years out of date, says it all really.

So it seems I might as well put the new one in the garage for now.
I dont have the technical capability of getting a non Vodafone branded router to work so will have to make the best of what we have for now.
