Hi everyone,
We're due to have Openreach here on 4 Jan to change our copper phone line to fibre. Our current Vodafone Broadband package (Super ast 2) is due to run to the end of April 2024.
When the new fibre connection is up and running, will our commitment to Vodafone still end in April, or will we be started on a new contract of 1 or 2 years from 4 Jan?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Jodi.

If you've requested the upgrade then it'll likely mean a new contract. However, if openreach or vodafone are taking it upon themselves to upgrade you then your contract should expire in April as expected.

Hi Ripshod,
Thanks for the speedy reply! It's a compulsory upgrade that Openreach are doing, so that sounds like we can switch away (if we want to) in April. Much obliged for your help; I'd spent about an hour googling when I could have asked on here and got an answer in under 5 minutes!
Have a lovely new year,
Jodi.

Hey @jgc1457 ,
Sounds like you’re part of a copper to fibre migration program. Basically where Vodafone have reached out to you to let you know that your line is being upgraded rather than you getting in touch and pro-actively ordering a new package.
In this scenario (a Vodafone led migration) then your commitment shouldn’t change as you’ve not signed up to a new package. Enjoy the FTTP when it comes!

Hi Donnyguy,
Yes, I think that's what this is as I didn't ask for the upgrade -- tbh, the Super fast 2 is way more than I need but it was the same price as Super fast 1 when I signed up, so the FTTP is likely to be even more than I need! But as you say, it's got to be done at some time or another, and if it doesn't affect my ability to switch to other providers when my contract ends, happy days!
Thanks very much for the explanation and reassurance 🤗
