Hi - my Ruark R1S keeps coming up with the above error when I attempt to secure a connection with the broadband router. I can see the router details on the R1S and input my password, but no connection.

I can access the internet on the R1S via my mobile phone hotspot, however this isn't very practicable.

All my other home devises are connected oaky.

All help appreciated.

Thanks.

  • It sounds like you're encountering a DHCP issue with your Ruark R1S. Here are some steps to help you troubleshoot and resolve the "Failed to obtain IP address from DHCP" error:  ### Troubleshooting Steps
  • 1. **Restart Devices**:    - Restart your Ruark R1S and your broadband router. This can often reset any temporary issues.
  • 2. **Check Router Settings**:    - Log into your router's settings (usually through a web browser) and ensure that DHCP is enabled. This allows the router to assign IP addresses to devices automatically.
  • 3. **Check for Device Limit**:    - Some routers have a limit on how many devices can connect at once. Make sure you haven't reached this limit.
  • 4. **Forget and Reconnect**:    - On the Ruark R1S, forget the Wi-Fi network and then reconnect. Re-enter the password to ensure there are no mistakes.
  • 5. **Static IP Configuration**:    - If DHCP is still failing, you can try setting a static IP address on the Ruark R1S. Consult the manual for instructions on how to do this and ensure the chosen IP is within the same range as your router.
  • 6. **Network Type**:    - Ensure your router is broadcasting in a compatible frequency (preferably 2.4 GHz, as some devices struggle with 5 GHz).
  • 7. **Firmware Updates**:    - Check if there are any firmware updates available for your Ruark R1S. If so, install them to ensure optimal performance.
  • 8. **Factory Reset**:    - As a last resort, perform a factory reset on the Ruark R1S. This will erase all settings, so you’ll need to set it up again.
  • 9. **Router Logs**:    - Check the router's logs for any error messages related to the Ruark R1S. This can provide clues about what might be going wrong.
  • 10. **Contact Support**:     - If none of these steps work, consider reaching out to Ruark Audio customer support for further assistance.
  • Conclusion
  • By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot the DHCP issue on your Ruark R1S. If you need further assistance or clarification on any step, feel free to ask!

QuantumAI by name, QuantumAI by nature.

Please don't do this. At best it's a time waster and incorrect information irrelevant to the topic. Perhaps next time you do an AI search you could include the term "Vodafone router" as that would totally change the generated response.

Or are you just here to drop some spam bombs?
