Gigacube WPS - not functional

Hi all,

Newbie here, trying to get a booster socket to extend the range of my newly installed Gigacube, but long press, short press, stab! doesn’t make the wps function ☹️
I see that in some cases it needs to be ‘toggled on’ how do I access the control panel to do so and what’s the log-in process please.

Thanks in advance for the assistance 👍🏻

So, once you've pressed the WPS button on your Gigacube, what do you have to press on your extenders to make them connect?

What is the extender make/model that you are trying to connect, and does it have its own app?

The reason for the question is that the WiFi light does not flash on the Gigacube as it should when wps is active and sending out a link signal. The extender socket does not require an ‘app’ and wps search action is being followed as per instructions with that. The socket searches, but no connection is made as the Gigacube doesn’t appear to be sending out a wps signal. Hence the question.

  1. Enter http: //giga.cube or 168.8.1 in the address field of the internet browser.
  2. Enterthe GigaCube password (router login password). You can find it on the sticker at the bottom of the GigaCube.
  3. Click on Login.
  4. You will get an info about the automatic update.
  5. We recommend activating the auto-update. Click on Activated.
  6. Set up your Wi-Fi name (SSID) and your Wi-Fi password.
  7. Click Next.
  8. Enter a new login password for your router for security.
  9. Click Finish.
  10. Now the GigaCube web interface opens.

Any help? Something I found on the internet.

For whatever reason the log in page isn’t opening. Also the web pathway takes you to an alternative site page adding 192. in front of the 168.8.1

i.e. 192.168.1 which then won’t load 🙄

Anybody else tried this recently?

so I’m still without wps and not knowing if it’s a Gigacube issue or a software issue 🤷🏼

Try 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.8.1

If you check the internet settings on your device, it should be the gateway address.

The Vodafone broadband router (THG3000) can also be a bit finicky with the WPS button.

Look at the label under the base of your gigacube. It tells you there the ip (192.168.1.1) along with the password. If the login requires a username try 'admin' or 'Admin'.
