Has anyone had any luck in getting a fixed ip via VF gigafast (cityfibre) product FTTP.

Hi there @markeagles4! If you haven't already, I'd advise giving our dedicated Gigafast team a call on 191 from a Vodafone mobile or 03333 040 191 - they'll be able to help with any queries you have with your IP 😊

Just for anyone reading this, no this isn't a dedicated gigafast team, its a generic vodafone number, that deals with all broadband, landlines and mobile queries. I have just rang it, it takes around 4 minutes just to get past all the automated rubbish before you are passed through to the queue to speak with someone.

A few years later, Yes. VF fixed my IP when asked. But only as a workaround, because the router cannot be set to use ones favourite DDNS. Its the VF ones or nothing and most of those have a paywall. What? This is a domestic router!! Not good and certainly an old fashioned view.

Not trying to be contrary, but a DDNS is a work-around for not having a fixed I.P., not vice versa.😉

True in that context, but at least my domain will/would remain the same. Asking people to connect to 123.456.78.9 is not as easy as connecting to move.over.com, for instance.
So at least with a fixed IP and a DDNS app running on my home equipment to keep my domain alive, they will be able to remote in with the existing domain.
Next job is Wakeup over Wan which isn't possible using the VF router, so I'll find another way of doing it.
Looking at edge routers anyway, so all the above will be moot if I decide to go that way. I'll lose the home phone, but that won't be much loss as it's rarely used these days...
