Hi all,
I'm attempting - like others before - to get the Vodafone VOIP that comes with gigafast with equipment other than the supplied Vodafone router. I've already successfully got my broadband working on a 3rd party Asus router, so I got myself a Grandstream HT801 ATA phone adaptor to attempt to do the same with the phone.
I've managed to get my Voip (SIP) credentials from tech support:
Those details have been entered into the ATA adapter, and I've done these additional steps to attempt to get it working:
With all this, my port status remains unregistered. However - something is working, as I started getting phantom calls from sipvicious (dead air on 100, 1001 etc). So much so that I’ve been in and disabled / enabled the settings mentioned here:
https://forums.grandstream.com/t/grandstream-ht814-receiving-calls-from-sip-vicious/37283/2
And that’s stopped them from ringing the phone every 30 seconds.
So I think that I've 95% of it sorted - but need help with the additional 5% to get it to register. I know that when I got my broadband details, the customer services guy who gave them to me failed to tell me that the userid for that required '@broadband.voadafone.co.uk' adding to the value he gave out. Or that the VLAN ID was 911... so there's the possibility that this could be a similar situation. As I mentioned above the SIP user is just 'voi' followed by a string of numbers - so I wonder if there's an '@something.something' to be added on to that.
Any help appreciated.

Changing the DNS hasn't yielded any difference. I'm using a TP-Link TD-W9980 router.

Just realized that I'm using the adapter that came with the Vodafone router. Perhaps I need to use a US to UK converter cable instead?

If it's working, even if only partially, I doubt it's a problem with the adapter.

Finally managed to get it working by disabling SIP ALG in the router. However, unable to make outbound calls.

What are you using the adapter for? ATA connects directly to the router. Phone connects directly to the ATA Rj11 using the adsl/modem lead that came with the vf router.

Hi, I am having similar issues with a DP750 basestation and DP720 handsets. I bought these as I read on here grandstream were the only voip devices that worked with vf router. Support have given me similar config info but insist no 3rd party products will work and you have to use (non existent) vf voip products. Have you got it to work, I can’t get sip registration to work. Connected my laptop directly to router and tried to ping sip server but could not find it. Any help appreciated.

So you've gone and bought a device that's not on the list. Other than following and adapting the settings from the HT801 there isn't much chance. I wonder if the dect base even has the required settings as it's never been tested.

Thanks, I hadn’t seen that list. Still interesting that vf support are saying nothing will work.

Bah, what do they know? There's more practical knowledge amongst the members here.
