Thanks!

You can't take out a contract until you are 18 @FoneUser11 , there is the credit check to be completed and you  can't pay direct debits until you are 18.

The only thing to do is for an over 18 to apply for the broadband and complete a change of ownership to you when you turn 18 and have some credit history to base the check.

Thanks! Fortunately there is someone 18+ in the premisis.

But, the card is in my name.. And If it's in their name and they pay with my card. What would happen?

Also, the person over 18 does not have a bank account,

In order for a minor to get a broadband contract, they would need someone (who can pass a credit check) to act as a trustee, and for the entity providing the service to be agreeable with such an arrangement.

1) I doubt Vodafone would be "agreeable".

2) It's unlikely that a person with no bank account would pass any required credit check, especially when acting as a trustee!

3) If applicable you might have more luck if your contract were guaranteed by social services, but you would likely not have full choice over the provider of the service!

there is another carer, they have a credit card and could probably pass a credit check but they do not live with me. Also, the person with no bank account stopped having it at 2012

PS: What about mobile broadband? Would it be the same or would different rules apply?

You are probably less likely to get mobile broadband, as it's less likely to be seen as a household service and so the limited exceptions made for minors may not apply.
