Home Broadband switching (failing) from another provider

Hi

My current contract with it with Plusnet has finished, and I am tempted to join Vodafone fibre2, in part, because I am being offered a generous gift card incentive through the uSwitch.com site.

however, when trying to set up the switch through the Vodafone website, and despite providing my landline number, my Plusnet account number address and full name. Vodafone are unable to “find my details” and initiate the switch.

This is all very leaving a very unsatisfactory taste, especially as it is my first engagement with Vodafone, and I’m wondering if the rest of the contract will be similarly troublesome. So my question is, has anyone else had this problem and how good is the fibre2 service.
NB I have to complete the set up through the affinity link provided by uSwitch.com and I cannot set it up directly with Vodafone. Otherwise I don’t receive the gift card incentive

Just to say I’ve tried to resolve this via the online chat agent, and also by phoning the (human) help desk phone number; to be frank both were equally useless with the simple advice to ‘try again’…I have now been trying almost all day.

Try phoning the number on the vodafone ads. At least you'll be dealing with someone that actually can, and wants to help.

Fibre2 is an FTTC contract, so are you on FTTC with PlusNet currently. and has your area FTTP available?

All these checkers (including Vodafone's) rely on databases that are frequently "out of date" so try another comparison site, but if you want the cash back/vouchers you have to go via the site, not direct to Vodafone..
