I recently switched to VF superfast 2. Everything seems to be working OK but for one annoying problem.
I leave the property regularly for 7 - 10 days. When I return neither my mobile (not VF) and laptop do not initially connect to the internet, wi-fi or router. The laptop (windows 10) will connect to the internet when I manually reconnect, but will not connect to the router using 192.168.1.1. The mobile phone (android 10) will not connect to the internet or router at all, and the VF app just hangs. The problem is resolved by turning the router off and back on again.
I have 2 devices (thermostat and Ring doorbell) connected and I have no problem accessing those via 4G when I am away, so it seems if I do not connect the phone or laptop for X days the router drops theconnection.
Is there a router setting that is causing this that I can change?

Check to see if there is any MAC address filtering switched on for the devices, it's under Settings and Mac Filter on the THG3000.

Mac filtering is currenty off.. Should I turn it on for all connected devices?
I also noted that my new LG smart tv loses its connection as well and gets ijtself really screwed up.
So the problem is definately when a device is not 'connected' for say 8 days it cannot automatically reconnect. turning the router off and immediately back on allows automatic connection.

There is no good reason for doing so.
It sounds like the DHCP server in the router is stopping. Can't imagine why that would be though.

Don't think so as devices that are always connected (Netamo, Ring x 2) are not affected and continue to function without issue.

That is what would happen if the DHCP server ceased to to function.

Strange you mention the DHCP. Is anything else on your network trying to act as a dhcp server?

It'd be interesting to see what IP address the LG TV has when it's "screwed up", you can usually find this in the settings or by using an app on the TV such as "analiti".
If the IP is similar to 169.254.x.x, the DHCP server has failed!
I wonder if setting the DHCP lease time (if possible) to "0" could be used to have the DHCP server NOT update leases, unless there is a reboot!

The lease time on the Vodafone router is forever by default
