Hi all,
I believe there's a plan for Vodafone to increase prices by approximately 17% this April in line with other providers. I'm looking at an upgrade currently to Fibre 500 for £30.
If I placed an order for this now, the service could go live near the end of March. Would this mean that the cost of the contract would immediately jump to £35 days after I was connected, or is there a period for which new contracts are not eligible for a price increase? I had a look at various provider terms and conditions and the ofcom gudiance, but that specific case doesn't seem to be covered anywhere.

That was for Full Fibre 2. Dont know how more expensive plans are structured.

MoneySavingExpert now saying that Vodafone won't put up prices of contracts that were placed on or after 24th Feb, but I can't see anything on the Vodafone site.

I know Vodafone staff browse this forum, is there anyone that's able to provide the official line on this?

This one? Re: Price rise cut off - Community home (vodafone.co.uk)
But can we be sure the broadband will be treated the same as the mobile plans?

Wife & I are both with O2 mobile phone wise - just been advised of the impending annual tariff increases of 13.4% RPI rate of inflation plus 3.9%.
Both (airtime only) contracts end just after the increase is applied - guess who will be demonstrating their immense sense of supplier loyalty by taking their phone numbers to a better deal elsewhere. 😊

No idea! I would take anything Vodafone say with a pinch of salt. Vodafone have already upped the monthly prices of their Vodafone Basics tariffs on quiet!

Does seem to now be the official line for broadband as well. Still nothing I can spot on the website, but as close to official as I could get...

My biggest objection was that the increase was based on the unknown (to me) full rate of 33.50 not the 19.50 headline, thus turning say 14.4 (10.5+3.9) to an effective 24+%. . Seemed hidden and that I dont like. Spoke to complaints who effectively said 'tough'.

The actual price for the contract, before the discount, should have been known to you.
It is stated in your account, if you didn't know what it is, that is your oversight.

Wow.
My oversight.! Can see who's side you're on . Guess you're an employee (4000+ posts). Are you ? If you bothered reading my earlier posts you would see that the £33.50 had been mentioned as rate after 24 months. You would also see that Vodafone employees had assured me (in writing) that this increase would nor apply over the 24 month contract , others that it would not apply in way it actually did. Both wrong. And later Vodafone would not stand by those earlier assurances. The contract which you see only after signing up., unclear (not just to me but also Vodafone employees) and with arithmetic errors in, would have taken very little to clarify it and proof read to catch those errors.
