Solution

Power hub DSL utterly useless

Does anyone else find the power hub DSL with WiFi 6 to be the worst piece of networking kit they've ever used?

Constant dropping of WiFi connection to every device in house simultaneously (wired still works so not an issue with FTP). Authentication failures requiring a restart. Non-functional WPS and WiFi buttons. Takes an absolute age to restart.

How do I get Vodafone to give me functioning kit? Can only drop so many work calls before my colleagues start to assume it's a "me" issue.

I joined vodafone about 2 weeks before power hub came out so they sent me the power hub free.

My phones and laptops are OK,  the kit not connecting is this.

The Thg extender grey colour thing, even ethernet connection don't work.

HP printer , only wps connection available in menu

If you mean this one

That is not compatible with the Power Hub, each router (THG3000, Power Hub and Ultra Hub) have their own compatible extenders.

But no, I've never tried to mix and match them.

Printers are often a problem when changing routers, have you tried WPS? Which printer do you have?

HP seem to be a particularly awkward brand. Elsewhere from this forum I've had to sort out HP printers for a number of people. It's not even the same solution for all the HP models.

The problem is not the printers, the problem is the voda power hub , although it is wifi6 the older super hub had more connectivity. This forum has so many instances of guys not being able to connect kit such as printers, extenders, security camera etc.

all because voda have locked the band settings and the wps settings , whoever designed the program to do this has not tested it correctly , it is crap

True, but it has been like that with all the routers Vodafone use since they removed the option to split the bands..

I'm very surprised you had the option to split the bands on the THG3000, that is normally removed when your account shows you have the extender.

ahh ok so the extender no vali nada, another trick to get you spend more money...

i have hp 3055 a printer. the only way it connects wifi is with wps but i get wps conflict message on printer screen. Currently i am have to take my laptop to printer and use usb connection.

Again the super hub worked exactly fine no issues

@Jrqp1111 Is your LAN "public" or "private". If "public" change to "private" and see if that makes a difference.

That's an odd message, not heard of that before. Could there be more than one router it is trying to connect to?

Have you tried completely resetting the printer and starting again, and is that how you connected it to the THG3000?

@Jayach  Knowing HP there may even be a fresh firmware or driver for it. Since HP went all-out mad on trying to stop people getting cheap ink it seems to have got worse.

The printer has connected to everything I ever had for years with wps
