Returning old Vodafone equipment?

Hi,

I recently upgraded from 500mb to 900mb, and got a new router (Ultra Hub II). One of the emails I received told me I had to return the old equipment. However, the email is confusing as it says:

However, the "click here" link that should allow me to print a label takes me to a generic "How to recycle your old router" page (https://www.vodafone.co.uk/broadband/tips-and-guides/what-to-do-with-old-router) which mentions nothing about printing a label to send anything back.

Any help welcome.

P.S. The broadband back-up dongle has never actually worked despite numerous short-term drop outs over the past two years.

If you look at the T&C's here vfcon112036.pdf (vodafone.co.uk) section 3.7, it states "Except where we expressly state otherwise, you will own the equipment we supply to you under our Agreement 14 days after your service activation date"

So basically it appears you can do whatever you want with the old router, it's yours.

Being the provider of electronic equipment (the router), Vodafone are obligated to offer free disposal of the equipment in compliance with the WEEE directive. So they're covered, even if you decide not to return it to them.

Thanks both. The image isn’t showing but it says if I do not return the equipment within 30 days they will charge me  and they link to a price list. They’d charge me about £180 in total.

Hi @MattM76 Our team can help you with this, please pop us a message over on our social channels and we can get a return sorted for you. Just let them you posted here first.

Thanks Janey. I spoke to a support agent over chat and they have issued a return label.

@MattM76 That's great, thanks for getting back to us.

@MattM76

Your picture has been moderated now, and they are only asking for the dongle back, nothing else as far as I can see.

That seems reasonable as you will have a different 4g backup with Pro II, and the sim in the dongle will be registered to your account.

Agree, and no issue with that, but it was a bit confusing when the email said "click here to print a label" and it was generic info about recycling an old router. 😁

All sorted now though.

Hi I ordered Profibre2 and had the same email requesting returning the dongle with no reply paid label. I was told that the dongle can be returned to a Bodafone store which is what I. Intend to do
