I'm about to change from Sky broadband to Vodafone

I've got many devices in my house connected via LAN,  but mostly  Wifi 

It will be an absolute pain to change every wifi device login, so can I just change the Vodafone SSID and password to that of my existing Netgear (SkY) router? Will I even have to use the Vodafone router? I know I will if I want to retain landline  telephone usage but even that is not essential, I use exclusively mobile now and only get scam/spam calls on the landline.

Yes, you can change the SSID and password of your Vodafone Router to those you used with Sky. Indeed you should as then everything in your home should just connect. The Vodafone Broadband App (Android and IOS) allows you to do this easily via the Wi-Fi tab at the bottom of the screen. If you are feeling adventurous you can also do it through the Router web interface.
