Hello. I am unable to get a wifi signal in one room of my house so I have run a cable, connected a switch and hard wired the sky TV.  Is there anything that I can buy that I could connect to the switch or replace it with that would give me wifi in this room?  I need a 2.4 Ghz and 5Ghz connection and that was about the limit of IT abilites changing the modem settings to this. I am using the THG3000.

Sorry if you have already tried but as a simple suggestion, could you ...

(a) Move it in the room it is currently located in (perhaps a longer cable to the wall socket)?

(b) Rotate it 90 degrees (it may have an element of directional signal)?

Failing that, the options are WiFi repeaters, Powerline devices, and the like. Have a search on the forum because this kind of question has been asked frequently.

Thank you for the reply. I have moved the router to different positions in the room its in but it makes no difference.  I get no signal in the second room,  What I dont understand is I can pick up neighbours networks 3 or 4 times further away than my router.

As you already have a switch in the room what you need is a wireless access point. As you want 2.4 and 5Ghz it will need to be AC. A quick google search found this, in AP mode it should do what you want, and as it's from Amazon it will be easy to return if it doesn't do the job.

I have no experience of using one of these, it's just a suggestion of one possible device. Do let us know what you do in the end.

thank you. I will do a bit more digging into this .

Use an old router as a switch and it will also let you use the wifi on the old router as well
