My THG3000 wont open ports. I've managed 80 and 88 but thats it ?

I use the ipv4 port mapping page. Put the Ip address and port number in but it doesn't wotk. No error code comes up. The router states the port is opne. When I check the port though its still closed ??

What port are you trying to open, I'll give it a try on my THG3000, and see if I have the same problem.

9000 and 85

I tried 85, and that seems to have worked, I have to go out now, will try 9000 later.

O.K. back now, and setup port forwarding on port 9000 and according to GRC, shields up, it has changed to closed, rather than "stealth" as per the earlier port 85.

I suspect this is because there is no server to respond on those ports.

Have confirmed it using

Open Port Check Tool -- Verify Port Forwarding on Your Router (canyouseeme.org)

which says those ports are now refused rather than timed out.

That has pretty much exhausted my knowledge of port forwarding. the settings on the router are definitely making a difference, but as I have nothing to respond it's not getting anywhere.

Willing to carry out any more tests you would like, but as you can tell I'm not an expert.

Think I’m just going to report the unit as faulty. It was working and now it’s not

And you didn't think to mention that before?

For a problem like this, the chances of the router being faulty are miniscule.

Have you tried factory resetting the router and starting again.
