I have just replaced my Iomega USB HD with an Integral USB HD. The Iomega drive, once plugged into my Hub 3, could be accessed remotely, and mapped as a network drive. The Integral drive does not, it is showing on my router page as having the address of \\vodafone.broadband\SMI_USBDISK_1_7d65 but I cannot access that location, when I try to I get an error (both via file explorer or a web browser), and even if I replace the start with its local IP 192.168.1.1 I still get an error in file explorer, but in the web browser I am getting a 404 Not Found page.
Any ideas please?
Weirdly, I can access the contents of the USB drive when I go to This PC\Vodafone Wi-Fi Hub\Music\All Music, but I'd like to be able to map the drive and I'd like to be able to access the files remotely.
Update: Having now plugged my Iomega USB HD back in, I'm having the same problem with it. Have Vodafone done something to the router to stop USB sharing?

Not as far a I know, did you possibly re-format the Iomega since you last used it on the router?
From what you say it sounds like DNLA sharing is working, but not SAMBA, so check that hasn't been disabled.

No reformatting. I literally disconnected one, plugged the other in, found it wouldn’t work, then plugged in the original that had been working and found it wouldn’t work either.
The router is set to DNLA & SAMBA enabled. I turned them both off, saved, waited, turned both back on, saved, waited, tried to access Iomega, got same errors.

Have you tried rebooting with the drive connected?

Tried rebooting the computer and the router. Did not work.

I'm only using USB sticks, I've not used hard drives, but assuming you are using Windows, if you copy the path direct from the sharing tab (one of mine is \\vodafone.broadband\VendorCo_ProductCode_1_2392) and paste it straight into the run box does it not find it?
Possibly replace vodafone.broadband with the I.P. address of the router.

The Iomega is HD and it was working fine. The other is a stick. Neither are working. I tried copying and pasting the path, didn’t work. I tried replacing the \\vodafone.broadband bit with 192.168.1.1 but that didn’t work either.

Very strange then. The only other problem I can think of is it's fussy about formatting, it seems to be happy with FAT32 and NTFS, but doesn't like exFAT, but that is unlikely to be the problem as the Iomega was working.

They’re both NTFS, as you say the Iomega hasn’t been changed but is no longer being recognised by Windows (or IOS for that matter!)

IF the VF router is still sharing in Samba v1 it could be the reason. Either see if the router has an option for the Samba version or change the settings in the computer (but Samba v1 is a security risk).
I don't use the VF router, so it may be sharing in a newer protocol that I am not aware of.
