Hi

I have three asus et12 pro mesh routers and want to use my ultra hub as a modem
I have it wired to the wan port of my asus router

I have turned off these settings in the ultra hub but I was told there is no passthrough mode ?
I just want the hub to be a modem and not a router
I was told it auto turns off as a router when connected to a third party but strange no setting?

I was just told that having two routers is bad for connection etc I want to make sure just one is on

can anyone help clarity this etc

thanks

Most peeps get by fine having two routers in tandem (double NAT), but you have to remember port forwarding on both routers if you want to expose any services to the net.

If you're on FTTP why keep the vodafone router? Landline?

If you're on fttc you could always get a used Huawei hg612 modem from ebay to replace the vf router.

Hey Adrian,

When you connect your Ultra Hub to the ASUS router using the WAN port, the Ultra Hub's router function should automatically be disabled and function as a modem only. However, since there is no actual "pass-through" mode, it is recommended to disable the Ultra Hub's Wi-Fi, DHCP server, and any routing-related settings in the Ultra Hub's settings.

Additionally, it is true that having multiple routers on your network may cause issues such as double NAT or conflicts in routing tables. It is generally recommended to only have one router active on your network.

Someone's been at the AI. Totally wrong copy/paste response. I also suspect the other two responses elsewhere this morning, as this member has signed up just to make them. Is this leading to an "I got this....." post?
