Unable to see my Synology NAS on LAN with Vodafone Broadband

I have just signed up to Vodafone Broandband, when connecting my Synology NAS drive to the back of the router via ethernet I am unable to see my device. I have tried to discover the device but still no joy, can anybody help?

It works fine with my old Talk Talk Router.

I don't think it does.

The bold there (as in other parts of the forum) signifies brand new threads , not threads with new unread posts.

Or (as Vodafone now like to call them) brand new posts, not posts with unread replies. (confusing isn't it)

@Jayach This is bold and has 102 replies with one new at the end. Usual wait for the picture.

Thank you for your answer. From what I recall I was alwasys using the 'get the network automatically (DHCP)'. See below

Are you saying I should force an IP for the router within a range allowed by the vodafone router?

Thanks,

I think as has already been mentioned it's common to use the NAS configuration to set a "Static IP" on the device itself.  All well and good provided its within the subnet the router is using (192.168.1.0/24) and is outside of the range the router DHCP uses to allocate local IPs.  If the subnet set on the router is wrong, your best bet may be to connect it directly to a comuter on the same subnet so you can change the settings to fit in with the new router!  *You shouldn't need to reset the NAS!!!

*And the bit about the forum ordering - that is a massively out-of-the-way setting!

Also Synology have issued a raft of updates in the last few months and the release statements say something along the lines that the NAS may not have automatically acquired them.

As you say we will need to wait for the picture, but earlier, after your comment, I looked at the base forum, and yes loads of threads were bold.

But they were all ones that I hadn't looked at, however the THG3000 thread was there, but wasn't bold, andt when I checked it it did have a new reply that I hadn't seen, so really should have been bold.

The staff will find the setting in ACP when they bother to look. Same with the layout settings.
