Is it worth buying a router to replace the vodafone supplied hub with pro fibre plan?
I am just wondering if I would get a better connection, more range and just better internet by buying a better router but I don't know anything about them or how good the vodafone supplied one is.
Would this be worth doing?

I think that it is worth mentioning that frequently WiFi congestion is caused by neighbours leaving all their devices on their default setting. With WiFi 5 and above there are a wider range of channel numbers that are available and are often unused. For example here on WiFi 5 I can see 8 signals of which 7 are in the 36 to 50 band, one that is at 64 and not a single one at 100+.

Everyone around me is sharing the same 5Ghz channel (default 36), that's fine for me with the choice I am left with 😎

I'm on the pro plan and have never been offered an Extender! There are places I don't get a signal and was only saying to the help desk yesterday that my work laptop keeps dropping signal. Am I entitled to an Extender then?

You would have to check with Vodafone, but the Pro plans all came with an extender (1 to start with but more sent if you needed them, the guarantee was at least 10Mbs Wi-Fi in every room or you could leave)
If you are on Pro, but don't have the extenders or 4g back-up, just what was Pro supposed to be giving you?
Have you checked your account, does it actually say Pro?

Mine just says Superfast 2. (even though that is now called Fibre 2)
When did you join?
Unfortunately the questions you are asking do not have simple answers.
Yes the router used will have a great effect on the quality of your experience, and ISP supplied routers are a compromise between cost and reduction of support calls.
Getting your own router will always be better (and better means different things to different people) but will need some commitment to achieving that, It won't be "plug and play".

Aah that's the pro 2 plan. I'm on just pro. I don't get 4g back up.
