is now on sale for 99 at Amazon. Not the best brand. Other BB providers are not better and VF is cheaper.
Hi, so I have an update on this.
Now, in theory the Vodafone router will dial into the DrayTek, see below image for proof 🐵
If you'd still like help with this @carp3di3m, I've sent you a private message over with details on how to get in touch.
I'd like to set up vpn on my router. I've tried live support twice and will not be using again, please just send me precise instructions and the details I need to enter into the vpn settings on the router config menu.
Thanks
Hi there,
I have tried to connect my router to SurfShark, but have not been successful. Can anyone help with the precise instructions?
Thank you.
Hi @gaijin28 are you trying to install the VPN directly onto the router, or are you installing the VPN on your chosen device? Also, which router is it that you're using currently?
I've installed it on devices, tried to install it on Samsung smart tv but didn't work. So the only option would be to install it on router. I am using the normal vodafone router. Model HHG2500.
What happens when you install it onto the router @gaijin28?
Hi how do you connect Nord VPN to Vodafone Router please?

See my reply to your other post.
can someone tell me how/ if I can connect to a VPN server using my vodafone router?
many thanks
You can't, you will have to do it on the devices.
IF you have a router that can run openWRT then you can, according to the docs, run a VPN from the router.
Why does everything have to be in pm?
you don't post personal info in the thread but you can post the solutions in the thread so that it helps everyone who has this problem, Surely this will make more sense rather than keep inundating support with the same problem from different people?

I think that the answer boils down to cost. The social media team are probably cost effective for Vodafone. Whether they are cost effective for the customer is another matter entirely.
I refuse to use social media particularly as the questions I was asked on the time I diduse it were so intrusive it felt like identity theft was a risk.

Personally I think that there are very few problems solved via the social media channels.
For instance this thread is about VPN's and the likelihood of the social media team having an answer is remote at the best.
I also think it should be up to the person posing the query to update us on the resolution, but very few do. To me that is just good forum etiquette.
It would be as well to remove the feature from the router Admin or explicitly remove it from support.
People should understand they are paying for consumer grade broadband. Even if it was a business line you would need to pay an IT expert to set up a hardware based VPN.
It's been a while since I was active on this thread but my approach now would be to buy a new router, ensuring it has good support for VPN. A current Draytek model with dial-out VPN capability should be fine. Forget about dial-in with bog standard consumer broadband. If you don't understand that much then you'll need to hire an IT professional. I don't think it's fair to expect the support team to know about all this stuff for £20-odd quid a month fibre and a free router. The free routers that are supplied are not great at doing anything other than providing basic connectivity and WiFi. Maybe a few extra features bolted on to make it look good but it's all for show.
I have the latest THG3000 router and there are no options for VPN client or server (nor would I expect there to be).
I am surprised if the earlier ones did.
