Hey @AdamJParker I hope your well and thanks for getting in touch with us. What site are you trying to access? Could you send us a screenshot of the error message you're receiving? Remi

the sites i want to access are none of your business, they are perfectly legal adult sites in the UK. age restriction is turned off on my account, yet i still get the age restricted content blocker. i want it fully turned off because im paying you 60 quid a month. youre lucky youre the only service available in my area or id have already left

If you're complaining some sites are blocked when they shouldn't be. it's perfectly reasonable to ask what they are. otherwise how can they investigate it?
If you are somewhere in the U.K.( I won't ask where, don't want to be accused of being nosy) and Vodafone are the only supplier you are presumably referring to mobile, in which case you are posting in the wrong part of the forum, this is Home broadband & landline.

im having to use a 5G connection to get internet for my desktop, since despite living near a city centre this area still doesnt have fibre broadband and nobody offers dial up anymore, so this is my only option. the site in question is an adult toy store, but whats really strange is how the vodafone thing only blocks certain pages of it, instead of the whole site. something is setting it off randomly and i just want it fully turned off

As I said, you are posting in the wrong area of the forum, if you are using 5G that is mobile broadband, you may get better advice here: Mobile Broadband - Community home
I find it difficult to believe you can't get Fibre broadband. (that is broadband via a telephone line, as opposed to Full Fibre via fibre optic cable).
Have you tried putting your address into a comparison site, such as Broadband Deals: Compare in November 2024 - Uswitch?

I don't know if it's possible to change your DNS setting on mobile broadband, I assumed you were on Home broadband when I posted that reply, (because that is where you posted your query)

@AdamJParker With either a Windows or Apple pc, as we don't know which you have, open the command box (cmd or xterm) and use the nslookup command. If it doesn't lookup the site and return the IP address then change your DNS settings as suggested. You can tell nslookup to use alternative DNS servers do you don't have to go altering the router and/or the pc. You can also use the website that tests whether the ISP is actively blocking. The site is called something like "is this site blocked" a little search will find it.
If it's a legal site, then I don't really see what your concerns are giving that even the BBC mention such sites by name in their articles.

You can completely bypass the Vodafone content controls by not using their DNS servers.
If you find websites are still blocked after that, it's not Vodafone doing it.
