Just purchased a new CCTV system (old one broken/irreparable).
We have been unable to connect to the internet - diagnostic testing on the CCTV says there is no connection to the router, despite direct connection via ethernet cable.
From searching on the internet and this forum, it appears that our vodafone router is likely blocking the CCTVs connection to the internet.
Have read about port mapping etc, but have no clue how to go about inputting the correct settings.
Would appreciate advice re: how to allow the CCTV box access to the internet.
Thanks.

Not sure I can help much, but

connecting to the router, is not the same as connecting to the internet.

The only CCTV products I can recall having issues reported on these forums are Hikvision and in all honesty it affects other ISPs and is often caused by users, not the equipment.
So what is the equipment and how do you initially connect to to it to set it up?

You say "CCTV system" . Is this a full system with HDR? Or are these just cameras that are supposed to connect to a HDR but you only have the cameras? What hardware do you have exactly?

I got mine to work after amending a setting. You need to login to the router settings, usually http://192.168.1.1
Go to Settings at the top, then Configuration on the left.
Turn on UPnP (universal plug and play) and it started working.
Above instructions are for the Ultra Hub but I would think any of other Vodafone's routers work in a similar way.
