fault in your Vodafone broadband you can be charged £60 ?

This is what I was warned by my current provider Virgin, when I said I might want to switch to Vodafone

Never heard anything like this. Sounds like something from the virgin retention team play book.

Complete cobblers. They are scaremongering, and are referring to the charge Openreach will make if they are called out and the fault is in your property. Vodafone (and all the other FTTC ISP's) will carry out checks to ensure that doesn't happen. The main one being to get you to try the router in the test socket.

Hopefully you will be getting FTTP with Vodafone. Interestingly we have just had a new joiner who has done just that from Virgin.

You could try asking in their thread.

If you have OpenReach called out for no good reason, you'll get charged, but that's the same for any network using the OR network.
