Hello
I have just got Vodafone Ultrafast Full Fibre Broadband
I got vodafone normal router and it is in storage room, therefore the wifi is not good in the living room
I am planning to buy a router or mesh system, I read from the forum that some routers with mesh systems can be plugged to openreach and they can be used without vodafone modem
would be good to hear alternative options that I can get , vodafone charges 10pound monthly for booster modem options, so is there any alternative option up to 150-170 that will be better option than vodafone
thanks in advance

@yanke_zulu Do you have a small box called an ONT bringing the fibre into the house? If so, you could (depending on how your house is built) move the router and run a longer cable from the ONT to the router. Obviously this may not work for you, but it could be a low cost solution.

I have the above box, does it mean any router will work if a connect the router to openrrach box without Vodafone modem

@yanke_zulu We're just waiting for the picture to be moderated.
Meanwhile there is a very informative and long thread in this forum about using alternative routers. I'll try to find the link and post it.
EDIT: Here it is, https://forum.vodafone.co.uk/t5/Other-broadband-queries/HOW-TO-Use-a-third-party-router-on-Vodafone-...

@yanke_zulu If you are going to be using VOIP then look for a thread about Grandstream (they are devices for VOIP) and note that VF say you have to use their router here https://support.vodafone.co.uk/Broadband/Set-up-getting-started-Home-Broadband-/1464003752/Can-I-use...
Also this may be a help about setting-up the alternative router https://forum.vodafone.co.uk/t5/Other-broadband-queries/How-to-Set-up-a-third-party-router-with-voda...
