New to Vodafone PAYGE, topped up £10 which was successful but without doing anything the credit was used and I received a message for a zero balance when on the pay as you go 1 plan rather than any bundles??

When you first top up @tonypanaggio48 Vodafone will take the top up towards a bundle, this is mentioned here: PAYG . If you don't want a bundle the trick is to opt out by calling 2345 and following the prompts before topping up, of course you couldn't be expected to be aware of this.
To check active bundles and credit follow the prompts on 2345, you can also access account information from your online account and application. There is further information for you here: Getting Started
Vodafone will always confirm a bundle has been added by text and you will receive a further reminder towards the end of the 30 days to top up for auto renewal.
