Hello
A new Vodafone SIM has arrived for me today. I wish to keep my old Vodafone phone number and understand I need some kind of code.
Both phone numbers and handset are all Vodafone. How can I keep my old number, please? Is there a Web page that allows me to do that?
Thanks.

Hi @Steve_1959_
Are you trying to do a SIM swap and move your number to a replacement SIM?
It would also help if you mentioned if you are pay monthly or PAYG or if you have taken out a new contract with a third party. With more information, you will be provided with accurate advise. However, please see the link below.

Thanks, Ann.
It is PAYG. Thanks for the link but there is little there that is relevant: I am not transferring from one network to another: both SIMs are PAYG Vodafone.
I had one handset with one SIM. That handset and SIM have now gone. I now have another handset and ordered a new SIM from Vodafone which is now in the handset. However, I would like to transfer the old mobile number that I had to my new handset.
Thanks again.

Hello @SteveHigh
I have moved your thread to the payg board where you will receive a better reply. After looking back on your previous posts, after helping you with your top up problem, I should have realised you were PAYG.
Vodafone can easily transfer the number to a SIM for your use. However, the number has to be put onto a plain blank numberless payg SIM, Vodafone won't be able to transfer the number where there is already a number assigned to the SIM.
The easiest way to get this completed is through a Vodafone store, stores keep stock of blank SIM cards. You will be asked some security data protection questions and the store will transfer the number within the hour.
If you cannot get to a store Customer Services, although reluctant for security reasons, may be able to send a blank payg SIM.

Is this still the case?
I have homed a couple of Ukrainian refugees and because there were no charity sims coming through the system 3 weeks ago when they arrived the PAYG guys helped out by sending a sim and giving some calls and data within their remit. The actual Vodafone Ukrainian Sims are due to turn up next week and having spent 3 weeks trying to build their identity through the Govt, bank, Universal Credit, their jobs etc the thought of having to try and tell everyone they have new details is just not worth the hassle. The local Vodafone store have not answered my message. If transferred out of Vodafone then it is unlikely they will return and my contract is up at the end of the month so instead of gaining custom and helping...
Has anyone had any other lateral thoughts on how to do this as I have been singing Vodafone's praise up until now. I cannot believe there isn't a means of achieving this.

Hey @Dave0, that's correct, we wouldn't be able to move their current number to the free SIM being sent out. If the refugees staying with you want to use the SIM and take advantage of the free inclusive data, calls and texts, they will need to use the number already connected to the SIM when it's activated.

So it could not be done in store?
Presumably they can PAC out and PAC in again?

Of course you can transfer the number to another network using a PAC and then back to Vodafone using a PAC provided by the other network @Dave0. The quickest way to request this would be texting 'PAC' to 65075. Please be aware that you may need to be connected to the other network for at least 24 hours before they will provide you with a PAC.
