Hi all - I am an Australian who has been living in the UK for a year and have a pay as you go account. Due to Covid-19 I am returning to Australia today but hope to return to the UK ASAP. Does anyone know if it is possible to 'suspend' your account so you can keep your number and any credit you have available? If so, how? Given this is probably an unusual question I can't find any advice online.

You wouldn't be able to put an account on hold and any BVB would expire after the 30 day period.
As this is PAYG, you only need to keep the SIM active with the occasional chargeable activity. However, you have 180 days before you need to make a chargeable activity. (You need to refer to the T and C's). If you have sufficient credit you can still use the phone in Australia but with the roaming charges added on. The charges are here: Travelling Abroad
If the number is not important to you, you can always get a PAYG SIM when you next return to the UK but with a different number.
