Registration of an old device

My wife has an old 2017 Nokia. The battery ran out over a year ago and a new one has now been inserted. The Vodaphone registration has expired and I am unable to re-register

It sounds like the SIM has been disconnected from the network for non use @briant7 .  Just need a new SIM for the phone from here: Free SIM . 

 

When you have the SIM if you don't want a BVB bundle, the trick is to opt out before adding the credit otherwise Vodafone will take the top up for a bundle.  See here: Opt out Big Value Bundle

If the number hadn't been unused for 180 days it will have been disconnected. As it's been over a year the number might not be retrievable as it gets assigned to the number pool to be given out again.
