I had to create a new account because I couldn't login to my account. It kept saying that it didn't recognise my username. I created a new account and my username was on it because it's associated with my phone number. Ridiculous! Then, l noticed 2 direct debit charges on my bank account for January. I deleted the direct debit and created a new one. Then, Vodafone stopped me using my phone because the bill wasn't payed. I payed it. Now, they are charging me £5 for this. None of this was my fault because I shouldn't have had to create a new account because of their mistake of not recognising my username for my original account. I am not paying that £5. No way!

Hi @Rockybl

I totally understand and appreciate your viewpoint on what has happened.

However as account access isn't available via the forum due to the security protocols of your account access then to see what's  happening you would need to contact Customer Support on 191 or Live Chat for them to look into this.

The Vodafone Social Media Teams via Facebook Messenger or Twitter DM can help as they can access your account this way.

Contact-us-for-account-specific-queries.

Link back to your thread here including your username so your not having to repeat yourself.

Finally a cautionary word about the £5 you mention and your decision not to pay it.

Vodafone have added a default on a person's Credit File in the past for way less than £5 which then stays on the file for 6 years adversely affecting Credit Status.

May i suggest It's a better route to pay and then acquire a refund later especially if this isn't going to be removed straightaway but instead investigated.

Having a default removed that's been placed in error is an even more drawn out process too.

I appreciate and accept the final decision is yours.

If I can be of any further help then please don't hesitate. Take care.  😎

This would more likely be connected with your thread here https://forum.vodafone.co.uk/t5/Pay-monthly/Account-login/m-p/2724053#M69797 @Rockybl

The system would not have allowed you to set up a new account when there was already an account in place.

As far as 2 direct debits are concerned, if you are on an Evo contract with the device and airtime charged separately, this will be correct, there is further information on this here: Evo

Vodafone charge a late payment fee of £5.00 as you were late paying and had a disconnection this would automatically have been added onto the following months charges.

It would be worth speaking to Vodafone to make sure everything is correct with the account and Vodafone are able to collect the following months direct debits.
