Hi there I was looking at new contracts and was just wondering if anyone knows why there is discrepancies with the price of airtime depending which device you want.
E.g’s (All the following are for 24 months)
Unlimited Max + 4 Xtra benefits + Entertainment:
Samsung Galaxy Z fold 3: £33
Unlimited Max + 2 Xtra benefits + Entertainment
Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max: £35 or £39 if you add the +2 extra benefits.

I assume the tariffs are tailored to go with the amount per month and allowances per month and the phone wanted.
iPhones have been known to command a more expensive tariff / contract probably due to consumer demand @Blissing

This isn't unique to Vodafone by any stretch of the imagination.
More popular or rather more expensive handsets always have a more expensive tariff.
I can give a more dramatic example, my daughter took out an Oppo on o2 = £22 for 250GB.
Samsung S22 £25.99 for 250GB. iPhone 13 £27.99 for 150GB.
None of them charge interest on the handset loans and the bigger brands will have lower profit margins so it's a way to make more money. Up until recently you were tied to the network for the duration of your loan agreement where as they now diverge after 24 months. Month 25 to 36 you could port your number to a new network, or cancel, and continue paying for your handset with your original network as handsets must be factory unlocked now. When this came into effect I noticed albeit annecdotally that tariff prices began to creep up.

This is one of the reasons I choose Payg and buy the phone outright from the manufacturer @Anonymous
Not the network as they typically have network bloatware and their own csc and software update scheduling due to network testing. [ excluding iPhones ]
Sim only can have better deals sometimes too.

Hi @Blissing
The device plan charge won't change, it's only the airtime plan where you can choose and add Xtra benefits. The Samsung plan includes 2 Xtra benefits where the iphone pone plan has 4 Xtra benefits. There is further information here: What are the Xtra Plan benefits?
When you have selected the phone you want, you are basically taking out a loan to pay for the phone and can increase the contract length and pay less for the device to get the phone at the price you are able to pay and build your airtime plan here: Evo
