One Number - iPad Calling Issue

Hi Vodafone Community,

I have recently added One Number to my iPhone Vodafone tariff and connected it to my cellular iPad Mini (A17).

The Data sharing seems to be working as well as the ability to send and receive SMS’s on my iPad Mini (over the One Number cellular connection, without wifi/my iPhone nearby) - which is great. However, I can’t seem to get my iPad to make or receive calls (over the One Number cellular connection)… calling only works if both my iPhone and iPad are on the same wifi.

I thought One Number included the ability to use your AirTime plan (calls and texts) on your iPad as well as data…

I’ve tried Vodafone 191 support 3 times - each time the Vodafone representative didn’t even know One Number was available for iPad’s, so I received no help. They instead asked me to contact Vodafone Twitter/X, which I did, however Vodafone Twitter/X said it’s out of their control, as they’re “limited to what they can help with” - and this, surprise, surprise, isn’t something they can help with. They then also refused to create a help ticket for the Tech team to further investigate and insisted I call 191 instead… despite me explaining 191 sent me to them in the first place.

So, I’m turning to the community instead… if anyone has One Number on their iPad, would you mind letting me know if/how you got calls to work (over the One Number cellular connection).

Thank you in advance.

Hello, @abc-xyz. I hope you're well.

I understand that you're having some difficulty with the One Number connectivity on your iPad.

It does state in the FAQs that 'Unfortunately, some tablets, like iPads, are unable to receive calls and texts - but don't worry, you can still use your phone's data allowance on these devices.' However, since you've managed to successfully activate texts, that would indicate that the cellular would work for you.

I understand that you have already attempted to speak with us on X (Formerly Twitter), but we would need you to get back in touch on Social Media so we can take a deeper look into this for you.
