Contract now coming to an end

glynb
4: Newbie

I've been with vodafone on the same number for 25 years and my contract is now coming to an end. I rang up to see if I could upgrade (I've always upgraded 2 months before my contract ended) but I was told no unless I paid a flexi fee?? Never done that before!  I then get a text saying my services will be going up from £40pm to £51pm!

No reward for loyalty here I get the same deal as someone who joined vodafone 2 years ago so I've requested my number be put on a PAYG sim so I dont loose my number and I'll be moving away when my contract ends. I'm taking my broadband away too.

Dissapointed is not the word. Loyalty should work both ways Vodafone.

Did you ring 191 and choose the thinking of leaving to get through to Retentions @glynb

Another option is to ask for a pac from Vodafone and move your number to another networks payg account and then open up a new contract say with CPW who may have better deals on, and then once the account is set up with the new number etc ask the other network for a pac and move your original number to the new contract.

Just a thought.

I would say in Vodafone's defense they are fair, all customers pay the same price, new and existing.

Having mentioned that upgrades now are with an Evo contract, and you need to be out of contract or pay off the contract as you have been quoted before taking a new plan.  See here: Evo

Vodafone have some very good offers on at the moment with an Evo contract, but the only thing you would be able to negotiate on would be the airtime part of the contract.
