Hi there,
I cancelled a contract within the cooling off period without ever using the handset. I received a letter advising I owed £18 and a credit fault marker had been placed on my file.
I contacted Vodafone and was advised by a Vodafone operative that I was not liable to make this payment. Some weeks later I received a letter from a debt collection agency who I advised that I was advised by Vodafone that I wasn’t liable for the payment. I then heard nothing for a matter of weeks I noticed my credit score has been affected so I got in touch with Vodafone again and was advised that in fact I had to make the payment which I have now done and cleared the account. I feel it was unfair for the credit default to be added to my file as I was initially advised that I was not liable for the payment. Can anyone advise on the steps to take ?
