Deleting Old My Vodafone Account

I was with vodafone years ago and had a My Vodafone account. I have rejoined and have a new My Vodafone account.

 

How do I delete my old username/account? No one on the chat seems to be able to do it even though I have wasted over two hours on chat trying to get people to do it.

Gdpr legislation which has been recently implemented means that I hold the right for my information I be deleted upon request. So can you please process this for me as it’s now a legal requirement, thanks

I've included the relevant information regarding your query below: 

Right to erasure
Vodafone strives to only process and retain your data for as long as we need to. In certain circumstances you have the right to request that we erase personal data of yours that we hold. If you feel that we are retaining your data longer than we need, it is worth first checking that your contract with Vodafone has been terminated, which you can do with Customer Services. If your contract with Vodafone has been terminated, we may still have lawful grounds to process your personal data. 

How long we keep your personal information for
We’ll store your information for as long as we have to by law. If there’s no legal requirement, we’ll only store it for as long as we need to.

We’re required by law to keep certain personal information about how you use our services for 12 months. Some account information will be held for 6 years from the end of your contract with us.

We’ll keep some personal information for a reasonable period after your contract with us has finished, in case you decide to use our services again. We, or one of our partners, may contact you about Vodafone services during this time if you haven’t opted out of receiving marketing communications from us.

As mentioned in my previous reply, you're able to contact the dedicated team here, if you'd like to discuss your query further. 

Are you able to add my vodafone account (contracts) to my online account? If not, could you please delete my online account completely and I will re-register subsequently.

Thanks for the reply. @TJ I have submitted a case as per the instructions provided in your private message. 

I also have this problem. MyVodafone exists but says it is cancelled (probably an old work phone) and I can't re-register. Can someone please send me instructions so I can log in using my current account?

It turns out I have a second account with a very similar username. Essentially, I just went through the 'forgot my username' process. All working now, but the old account still remains (and will probably catch me out again next time - if it's me reading this some time in the future, hello dimwit!).

Guys. After several emails with Vodafone I still haven't had my query resolved. This is becoming annoying now. Is there anyone out there that can help. Thanks
